The keep-Maure Castle consists of three levels, including the description occupies 20 pages. As usual in such scenarios, the difficulty is progressive, but this one is unique in offering traps, puzzles and games specifically designed for people Preprints, until the final confrontation against a major demon . Two appendices complete the module: the first includes some new magic items. The second is a bestiary featuring five new creatures, including the major demon that the characters must overcome in order to live out of the dungeon. The three components inside cover plans offer three levels of Maure Castle. A hexagonal map of the region (in color) is printed on the outer third part, and can locate it in relation to the City of Greyhawk.

Aother classic from the original gaming group.

This is a Koontz module, as Gygaz had to be a player sometimes (Mordenkainen in this instance). The adventure takes place in a complex adjoining (or underneath) Maure Castle, a famous place of mystery on Oerth. I would have liked to see some development of the Castle itself, but the adventure is still top notch fun. As with all these old modules, there are rooms where you wonder how or why a creature is there (or has stayed there when they could be doing something else), but there is also a well thought out story with plenty of offshoot adventure ideas mixed in. Additionally, you are introduced to several potential nemesis's(? spelling) for your players in the future, and a couple possible recruits/henchmen, backup PC's as well. There are definitely some hefty challenges for the group to overcome and plenty of opportunities for the DM to enjoy a bit of sadism towards his/her group, lol.
It is certainly worthy of being in any collection and can easily find a place in your campaign, whether you use the Greyhawk setting or not. Also, converting to 3.0 or 3.5 is really easy (cant speak to 4.0....i havent bought into a lot of those changes personally).

Tale of an arch-mage in the making

Here's a rare adventure featuring one of Gygax's most notorious Arch-Mages, Mordenkainen himself... your veteran heroes (levels 8-14) will delve deep into the ruins of Maure Castle itself, seeking the legendary Unopenable Doors! This is one of Gary's favorite "hack-and-slash" adventures, and now you can play the roles of Mordenkainen and Bigby yourselves, and see where all the action is! One of the best "old school" Greyhawk adventures in existence.

Some good ideas but the rest is average

I'd say there are 4 to 6 great ideas in here that I took and added to a home made adventure. The rest was pretty much an excuse for hack and slash. Good maps and great details about the legendary names from Greyhawk.
Would recommend but not highly recommend.
